IP Video Conferences
Accelerated development of communication and Internet technologies has opened the new opportunities in the sphere of business communications, education, medicine and the others in last few years.

On the other hand, modern business operations require continuous decrease of the costs and simultaneous increase in quality of communications, both with business partners, and those performed inside the very company. The quality of personal contact established with the partners and associates has always been the important factor in making of decisions.

Video conferencing systems, which enable transmission of the picture, voice and the data, produce the new quality of communications. The participants in the videoconferencing links realize more direct contact, establish mutual confidence in an easier way, and at the same time, misunderstanding throughout the discussions is avoided.

MDS Information Engineering has decided to enrich its offer with the high quality products from the sphere of videoconferencing, being aware of the importance in multi-media communications. The partnership has been established with TANDBERG and SONY Companies, which produce the highest quality video conferencing systems that may be found at the market.

In last few years, the video conferencing systems have been subject to dramatic development. Few years ago, the systems based on ISDN technology, which involved H.320 protocol for communications have prevailed. Accelerated development of the Internet technology and establishing of the TCP/IP protocol as the standard have boosted up majority of the producers of videoconferencing devices to put the accent to the support for the transmission via IP network by the use of widely spread H.323 protocol.

The majority of modern videoconferencing devices supports the setting up of connections via ISDN (H.320 protocol) and via IP (H.323 protocol). The protocols H.323 and H.320 define the manner of picture and voice transmission. Protocols H.261 and H.263 are set up for picture transmission, while voice transmission is defined by the standards G.711, G.728, G.722, G.729 and others.
Great success in quality of the picture, which is being transmitted, results in the new standard H.264 which is adopted by the ITU-T Organization. With respect to the H.263 standard, the new H.264 standard has enabled the picture transmission of the same quality, using the throughput twice lower or, has enabled significantly better quality of the picture by the use of the same throughput.

The latest videoconferencing devices of TANDBERG and SONY Companies enable the picture transmission of high resolution (HD) as well as the use of SIP protocol.
