| XMediusFax 4.0 Client/Server system is the solution based on the concept of centralised transmission and reception of faxed messages by the use of the existing computer network infrastructure. The system supports two architectures. The first architecture is composed of XMediusFax server, XMediusFax users’ work stations and corresponding software gateway which represents the link betwen the XMediusFax servera and AS5350 voice gateway. The principle scheme is shown on the figure. |
 |
| The second architecture supports transmitting and receiving of faxed messages by e-mail. Microsoft Outlook is used as the client for transmitting and receiving of faxed messages. This architecture is composed of the XMediusFax server and corresponding software gateway, which represents he link between the XMediusFax server and AS5350 voice gateway. Then there is e-mail server with the installed XMediusFax software gateway, which communicates between the XMediusFax and e-mail server, and between the clients’ work stations having the installed Microsoft Outlook. The principle scheme is shown on the figure |

The advantages of such mode of operation are reflected, above all, in full integration accomplished between e-mail and facsimile channel communication. This system provides for automatic conversion of incoming faxed massages into e-mail messages and their automatic transmitting to desired e-mail addresses. Microsoft Outlook is employed for sending of faxed messages, and the user does not observe any difference in sending either e-mail or faxed messages. |
